LISA (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna) is the answer of the science community to the L3 large mission of ESA (European Space Agency): The Gravitational Universe. LISA aims at detecting low frequency garvitational waves from space, opening a completely new window into the heart of the most energetic processes in the Universe, with consequences fundamental to both physics and astronomy. LISA is an ESA-led project, with a strong participation of the European member states as well as NASA.
The FACe is involved in the discussion of data centre activities for LISA. The center hase been intensively used by the LISA Pathfinder mission, a prototype of the gravitational wave detector of the LISA project.
